Black Bear

“One of the largest carnivores, it’s the only bear found in the U.S. east of the Mississippi. A daylight forest and swamp forager that likes everything from nuts and berries to young mammals and carrion, it’s often nocturnal near human habitation. A good climber that can also run up to 35 mph, its shy nature makes it a rare threat to humans. In deep hibernation for 6 months. L4-6″ W 100-900 lbs.”
